Act in Black DTNVS Binocular NVG

Esaurito

The DTNVS (Dual Tube Night Vision System) is an improved version of Act in Black's highly successful DTNVG goggle (first introduced in 2016). At 17.9oz (507g), the DTNVS is the lightest weight, highest performing BNVD currently available on the market. Offering improvements in strength and reduction in weight, the DTNVS exceeds MIL-STD-810G and US-SOCOM drop test protocols for drop and impact by a factor of two. The DTNVS is also water immersion rated for 66 feet for two hours.

Featuring your choice of NNVT NVT4-AG (autogated) 1600+ FOM, Photonis Echo 1600-2000 FOM, or Echo+ 2000+ FOM White Phosphor MX-10160 auto-gain image intensifier tubes, each DTNVS is cleaned, assembled, purged, and tested in-house with precision tools using our digital purging rig, downdraft table, and clean room.

This build utilizes US Milspec Carson or Edmund optics for the highest levels of performance with no optical trade-offs such as reduced eyebox viewing window, excessive lens flaring, oddly-shaped flare artifacts, or distracting rings of light as seen on lightweight lens systems.

Each device will also be tested and collimated using our  Hoffman night vision test set and a full test report will accompany each unit.

The independently pivoting monocular pod allows users to rotate individual pods away from the eyes as needed and with an integrated channel cut-off will independently cut power to each pod when in their stowed position to eliminate light splashback and potential tube damage. Additionally the pivoting pods are a huge benefit in enclosed spaces like vehicles or close quarters and will allow users to stow the goggle closer to the helmet, removing snag and impact hazards and reducing neck strain over time.

The DTNVS comes with and accepts US Milspec PVS-14 optics (either Edmund or Carson, depending on current stock levels) with adjustable objective lens diopters and are fully compatible with all common PVS-14 accessories like eyecup retaining rings, lens protectors and night vision recording devices.

The DTNVS features automatic brightness control (otherwise known as auto-gain). The overwhelming feedback from the military and law enforcement community has stated that manual gain systems are unnecessary in a binocular system and simply ends up being an added complexity that could potentially cause problems if not properly adjusted and also could be a potential failure point. Moreover, MX-10160 auto-gain tubes are often held to stricter standards for image alignment as they are exclusively used for binocular systems, making them easier to assemble, maintain and collimate.

The DTVNS is powered by a single CR123a battery and will provide up to 25 hours of battery life. Most users have reported longer run times with the pod auto-shutoff. This long run time completely removes the need for auxiliary battery packs, cables, and other accessories that could be a failure point and further reduces headborne weight.
